Time to lay down some ground rules:
1. The most important rule of trading: Never, ever, EVER... trade for cash. Highly illegal.
2. Never trade for blank tapes/discs.
3. I will only accept DVD trades (unless it's a special tape giveaway).
4. When trading, I will not allow shows downloaded off the Internet (unless I say different). Only burned-to-disc DVD's, or more commonly, with a DVD recorder (or VHS/DVD recorder combo; I recommend that).
5. Like most traders these days, I like to break even, so equal trades (ex: 2 hours for 2 hours)
6. Not only do I have a minimum (4 hours), but also a maximum: 24 hours.
7. If using a DVD recorder, I prefer to have them recorded in SP quality. Anything further may pixelate the picture and/or drop the frame rate.
8. If using a DVD burner with capture card, anything's fine.
9. I do accept trades within the U.S. and Canada.
10. I send my discs First Class Mail. If you wish, you could do the same.
11. I'll notify you when I send you the discs, and provide you with the tracking number.
12. Leave all commercials in during the dubbing/capturing process.
13. Upon making selections, make sure you include the tape/disc number (example: BSchwartz1.1), so it'll be simpler for me to find the episode (NOTE: Those that don't have numbers (save for a few) are what I recorded myself).
14. I also now put quality grades on the episodes I get from trades (everything I get from what I record myself is A+).
A+: "Like new" quality
A: Super quality.
A-: Great quality.
B+: Good quality.
B: Good quality, but a few blurs.
B-: Okay quality (even if it has a few grains).
C+: Average quality (sometimes it gets too bright).
C: Mediocre quality.
C- and lower: Poor quality.
PLEASE NOTE: The grade lowers depending on the frame rate, pixelaton, and/or audio.
15. Finally, here are the codes to the sources from whence the shows were recorded:
(OB) Original broadcast (no guarantee of commercials)
(OC) Original commercials (all commercials intact (give or take one))
(SM) Studio Master
(RPT) Repeat broadcast (commercials or not)
(GSN) Game Show Network (no guarantee which era; commercials or not)
(NICK) Nickelodeon (no guarantee if it's original broadcast, and/or has commercials)
(GAS) Recorded from Nick GAS
I think you might know the rest.
